The Royal Academy of Arts Collection
The Royal Academy of Arts was founded in 1768 under the patronage of King George III. It is unique in that its governing body is composed of practising artists. These artists (the Royal Academicians) being elected for their pre-eminence in one of four categories: painting, sculpture, architecture and engraving. The Royal Academy is an entirely self supporting organisation dedicated to the exhibition, teaching, cultivation and promotion of the fine arts. It receives no government funding and therefore your purchase provides valued support.
